This is my double page spread, i kept this page black and white to add to an effect. this makes my double page spread look more proffesional. i had a poster on one side of the page for the reader to have, and i had the interview of the artist on the left hand side of the page, the interview is very formal and it explains how the artist got into the music and why he does it. it is an interview that shows the real side of the artist

This is my contents page, my contents page is now black and white to add effect to the magazine, it also looks alot darker and original. i feel this suits the hip-hop style more. for this page i used images of the people that have their own sections in the magazine to give the readers an idea of what the interviews and storys will be like. the images used also fit the page very well, it makes the page look rough and 'ghetto'. The images suit the house style to make the magazine look more proffesional.

Evaluation of Front cover

this is my front cover, i created and edited the page using photoshop, all photos used were taken by me. I used a title as OTG which stands for 'out of the ghetto'. i decided to use this title as it suits the hip-hop style and it sounds appealing to my target market. to attract people to the magazine i also included quotes from interviews to give the reader an idea of what they would be buying.

i have put the title of the group on the cover in the middle of the cover. this is because the reader can see the magazine is mainly on this group before they buy it, this is to filter the people that buy it. people that like the group will be more encoraged to buy it and people that do not like the group will be put off buying the magazine. This lets the reader know what will be in the magazine before they even buy it

My magazine is now completed, i have finished my front cover, my contence page and my double page spread on photoshop. (as you can see from the images above). after alot of research and time, i figured out how to use photoshop and i was able to create the pages i needed to make and make them look good with a house style that is the same all the way through. i feel this house style suited my magazine.

time and effort

photoshop is complicated to use but im getting the hang of it, my magazine is looking good!

I used XXL magazine to gather information in my research above is two screenshots of XXLs front cover and contents page. i used this magazine as it is a very big well known hip-hop magazine. i had a look at the front cover and the contents page of the magazine, i looked at the style and the pictures, colours, fonts etc on these two pages to find out whats the best style to use, the fonts and colours used to look like a good, legitement hip-hop magazine. for my magazine my target audience are teens up to younger adults so i want to keep headings and fonts bold and colourful to attract my audience and suit my magazine to my target market.
In media today I had to analyse a number of different magazines and compare them in style, genre, quantity, add ons etc. i did this to gather ideas for my magazine. from this it helped me decide the genre and my target audience i am going to do. this allowed me to start thinking about the contence that will be inside e.g. what everything will be about, (it has to be suited to my genre).
